Plot and Conflict There are many conflicts in the story. Too many to be told but main ones are hiding Max, dealing with death, trying to help Mama and make her happy, and surviving the air raids. Living on Himmel Street is easy sometimes but it can also be hard at times too. So many conflicts happen at the same time that they blend in with each other and you they can’t tell which is which. The plot is pretty much that a girl, Liesel, ends up going to her new parents because her mom can't support her. During the time that this happens, she meets Rudy and many of the other neighborhood kids. They get along and as they grow up, things start to change and times become more dangerous. Especially when you're hiding a jew in your basement. The hard times come and Liesel learns to deal with what happens and she moves on with life. By:Mariel
